About

Jeremy Pion-Berlin

is an award-winning director and producer whose career spans premium television, feature film, documentary, vertical micro dramas, and branded content. Comfortable moving between genres and formats, he is driven by stories that explore identity, resilience, and the complexity of the human experience. Originally from Claremont, California, Jeremy discovered filmmaking at an early age, experimenting with stop motion animation, skateboarding films, and sketch comedy before directing his first narrative film at the age of 16. What began as childhood curiosity evolved into a lifelong passion for telling stories.

Living abroad in Scotland and the Philippines profoundly shaped Jeremy's perspective as a filmmaker and broadened his understanding of the people and cultures that continue to inspire his work. Immersing himself in unfamiliar societies, he pursued documentary and narrative projects that explored subjects ranging from indigenous communities and underground subcultures to controversial social issues. Those experiences reinforced his belief that every person has a story worth understanding.

Jeremy has produced and directed across premium television and feature documentaries, with credits spanning HBO Max, Hulu, Investigation Discovery, HGTV, A&E, and VICE. His work includes Discovery's hit series Murder in the Heartland, where he serves as Co-Executive Producer and Director, as well as the HBO Max one-hour specials What Happened to Valentino Dixon? and Murders at the Burger Joint. His feature documentary Failure to Protect, an examination of racial and socioeconomic inequities within America's child welfare system, enjoyed a successful festival run before securing distribution airing on Amazon and Tubi. Along the way, the film earned Best of Fest at the Frozen River Film Festival, Best US Documentary at the Doc. Boston Film Festival, and both Best Documentary and Best Director at the Oceanside International Film Festival.

In scripted entertainment, Jeremy directed ReelShort's Ms. CEO's Baby Daddy Is the Merchant of Death, which has surpassed 400 million views, and has directed more than eighty films for Dhar Mann Studios, collectively generating more than 220 million views across YouTube and Facebook. His commercial work includes collaborations with Samsung, American Express, Audi, Twitch, Nike, and other global brands, bringing the same cinematic approach to every project regardless of format.

Whether directing a feature documentary, a scripted drama, or a branded campaign, Jeremy's favorite part of filmmaking remains the people. Every production is an opportunity to collaborate with individuals from different backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives, relationships that continually shape his creative voice and reaffirm his belief that the greatest stories begin with understanding one another.
